Introduction
Episode 1: Raising Boys
In this podcast we explore the important role of raising boys. Whether a parent, teacher or sports coach, we discuss the ways in which we can help prepare young boys for adulthood, ensuring they are taught the important lessons they will need for a fulfilling life. With special guests Edweena Farrell, Youth Information Co-ordinator with Youth Work Ireland Midlands and Malachy Flanagan, Principal of Coláiste Mhuire Secondary School, Mullingar.
Episode 2: Steps towards fulfilling employment
In this podcast we discuss some of the skills that are necessary to attain meaningful employment. Whether it’s dealing with interview nerves, dealing with disappointment or career planning, this podcast will give you some ideas to help you along our journey. With special guests, Patricia McKenna, Co-ordinator of Services for the Unemployed with Westmeath Community Development and Mary Gaffey, HR Manager with DPD Ireland.
Episode 3: It’s Playtime!
In this podcast we discuss the importance of playtime with our children and why being ‘present’ during playtime can not only help build our relationship, but help us learn more about them and how they see the world. With special guests Catriona Corcoran, Co-ordinator of Longford/Westmeath Community Mothers Programme with Westmeath Community Development and Cathy Daly, a Play Therapist based in Westmeath who works with children & parents.
Episode 4: The Journey of Personal Change
In this podcast we explore the attributes that are necessary to create personal change, is change possible, what creates change and how should we deal with relapse. With special guests, Pat Gavin, Counsellor/Psychotherapist and Life Coach and founder of Good2Talk Westmeath and John Lonergan, former Governor of Mountjoy Prison, Author and Speaker on many social related issues.
Episode 5: Sport & Youth Mental Health
In this podcast we discuss the role Sport Clubs & Coaches can play in protecting and promoting youth mental health, what helps and what hinders it when young people are participating in sport. With special guests Kane Lynch, former International soccer player with New Zealand and FAI & League of Ireland Coach and Robert McDermott former President of Leinster Rugby.

In this podcast we discuss the changing roles that women are creating for themselves in the workplace, the barriers they have to overcome to achieve this change in order to attain meaningful employment. Episode 7: Relationships & Domestic Abuse
In this podcast we discuss the impact of domestic abuse within intimate relationships. We explore the difference between a healthy and unhealthy relationship and how to seek help if affected by domestic abuse. With special guests, Theresa Bracken and Elaine McLaughlin from Esker House; a support service in Westmeath for women who experience domestic abuse.

In this podcast we explore the modern family, how it has evolved and changed over the years, the strengths of family and the challenges it faces in a modern Ireland. With special guests Grainne Powell and Fiona Gallagher, Health Promotion & Improvement Officers with the HSE with many years’ experience working in the areas of parenting, family support and health & wellbeing.
Episode 9: Depression & Recovery
In this podcast we discuss Depression, what it looks and feels like and how it affects someone experiencing it. We also discuss recovery and the steps people can take to rebuild their mental health to its’ full capacity. With special guests, Assumpta Lyons, Area Coordinator for Grow Mental Health (Midlands) and Duana McArdle, the HSE Area Lead for Mental Health Engagement (Midlands Louth Meath).
Episode 10: The Modern Family (Part 2)
In this podcast, we delve further into modern family life and explore some of the common challenges facing parents as they raise their children. We discuss topics like teenage independence, sexual health and managing teenage moods. With special guests Grainne Powell and Fiona Gallagher, Health Promotion & Improvement Officers with the HSE with many years’ experience working in the areas of parenting, family support and health & wellbeing.
Episode 11: Talking Cant: Exploring Traveller Culture
In this podcast we learn about Traveller Culture including some of their customs, traditions and language, past and present. With special guests Christina Joyce, Coordinator of the Primary Health Care Project for Travellers in Westmeath with Westmeath Community Development and Caroline Nevin, Community Development/Health Worker for Travellers in Westmeath with Westmeath Community Development.
Episode 12: Positive Aging & Voluntary Work
In this podcast we explore the positive impact voluntary work can have in our lives, especially as we grow older. We discuss how it helps build positive social connections as well as give our lives an enhanced sense of purpose and meaning. With special guests, Anne Campbell Coordinator of Care & Repair and Befriending Service for Older people in Westmeath with Westmeath Community Development and Carmel Cummins, Volunteer Development Worker with Westmeath Community Development.
