The official opening of the Rosemount Playground took place on Saturday 21st September 2019. The playground was funded by the LEADER Programme 2014-2020, Westmeath County Council and the local community. The playground is located in the GAA grounds in the village and is a most welcome addition to the recreational and community facilities already in situ at the grounds.
Also on the day, the official opening took place of another LEADER funded project; the Social Initiative Enclosure. This is a specially designed enclosed space for use by the elderly or less mobile members of the community. This project is one of a number of initiative that Rosemount has undertaken aimed at combatting isolation thus ensuring that the elderly can partake in social activities at the grounds.
The LEADER Programme 2014-2020 provided 75% of the funding required to undertake the projects.
