On Sunday the 11th of July, the Mullingar Show will be held in the The Show Grounds, Culleen, (Castlepollard Road) Mullingar. This show always proves to be a huge success with a collection of varied events and exhibits. The Mullingar Show Committee are hoping that you might be available on Sunday the 11th of July to assist in making this years show the best ever!! If you are available on this day to Steward, Log entries in the office for competitions etc., be a friendly face with directions and also help keep the car park safe then please let us know! ALSO.. Any help before the show with preparing the grounds etc. would be much appreciated also. In total, 50 volunteers are needed but the more the merrier.. Over 150 years celebrating the best in farming, rural interests and country living Sunday, 11th July 2010 at the Showgrounds, Culleen, Mullingar, Co Westmeath For over 150 years Mullingar Show has supported agriculture and industry in Westmeath and throughout the Midlands. Mullingar Show is run by the Committee of the Westmeath Show Society Limited, a not-for-profit company and registered charity, on their showgrounds at Culleen, Mullingar and attracts entries from across Ireland. There are classes to reflect the traditional agricultural strengths of Westmeath in pedigree & commercial cattle and sheep showing. Horse and pony showing are traditionally very strong at Mullingar Show, with the large entry in show-jumping continuing an old tradition of excellence. Of course, there are classes for poultry and a vibrant dog show with horticulture and cookery well-represented in the indoor section of the Show along with arts, crafts and photography. Mullingar Show has a large trade stand area, indoor and outdoor, with stands reflecting all aspects of country and town life and living - from jodhpurs to jewelery, wellies to wine, food to fire extinguishers. As always at Mullingar, there is entertainment for all the family - from parachute jumping, Cossack horse display, petting animals, rare breeds, to live music with Mullingar Town Band and local musicians.
