WCD have carried out an extensive consultation with the public, statutory agencies and the business sectors on renewable energy. This is a follow on to the BioXL report which is available to be viewed on our website. There are many outcomes of this consultation including the need to provide independent information and training on the benefits of renewable energy both for individual and communities. WCD are offering communities the opportunity to participate in “powerdown” training and details are available on this website. Any individuals or groups interested in training should contact Tony Mc Cormack at our offices on 044-9348571. WCD also promote and encourage communities to develop renewable energy strategies and practices. This would include increased supports for projects of a demonstrative nature, where technologies, methods, approaches that are new to the county bring demonstrative or educational value. Details of grant aid and advice are available by contacting our offices. WCD would like to make contact with people who want to be included in their ever expanding database of people involved in the renewable energy. This will make it easier for networking and information sharing.
