11m Allocation for Westmeath (LEADER) Programme
Westmeath has been allocated almost 11 million under the largest ever LEADER programme. Westmeath Community Development Ltd will again operate the programme distributing funding to community groups and individuals in rural areas for the range of activities funded under the Programme. These activities are varied and include diversification into non-agricultural activities, support for business creation, encouragement of tourism activities, basic services for the economy and rural population, village renewal and development, conservation and upgrading of rural heritage and training and information.
“I am delighted with allocation” said Joe Potter, CEO, Westmeath Community Development. “It’s a reward for the hard work carried out and track record established by the rural community in County Westmeath“
At the moment staff in Westmeath Community Development are taking expressions of interest from members of the public as funding will become available shortly.
