The launch of the Westmeath Food Network took place in the Mullingar Park Hotel on Wednesday 21st July 2010 at the recently organised Food Experience Evening, featuring Kevin Dundon.  This event was organised by Westmeath Food Network who formed at the start of this year to jointly come together to promote local food production in County Westmeath.  

The Food Experience Evening is the first event that Westmeath Food Network has undertaken.  An attendance of just over 500 people were able to sample foods from 32 local producers. Afterwards they were treated to a cookery demonstration by Kevin Dundon followed by the official launch of the Network.

Ann Hamill, Chairperson of Westmeath Food Network, thanked the Board of Westmeath Community Development for their support in setting up the initiative. The proceeds of the night will be used to further develop the network.
