On Saturday next the Moate Agricultural Show will take place in the Moate Showgrounds. One of the oldest event of its type, takes place on the 4th. Saturday of August each year. The show attracts patrons and exhibitors from all over Ireland. There is something for young and old at the show! Moate Agricultural Show is one of the oldest in the country. It was first held in 1839. There are classes for horses, cattle, sheep, poultry, farm produce, cut flowers and floral arrangements. Events include an All Ireland Cookery Final, classes for dogs, a Cocker Spaniel All Ireland Final and an Al Ireland Filly foal final.
