WorldEnvironment Minister John Gormley has launched a new website advising people about ways to reduce their carbon emissions.

The website has been set up to encourage private individuals, businesses and other organisations to commit themselves to a 10% cut in emissions by next year.

Consumers, companies, schools and non-profit organisations can sign up to the pledge at www.1010.ie

The launch of the website comes as EU heads of state try to agree a common approach to tackling climate change ahead of a Danish conference on the matter later this year.
